Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag has confirmed that forward Antony has suffered a ‘serious’ injury,

This was after the Brazil international was stretchered off during Thursday’s 4-1 victory over Chelsea.

The victory confirmed Manchester United’s place in next Champions League but an injury blow for Antony cast a shadow over the win.

The Ajax star went down and was left in agony following what appeared to be a clean challenge from Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah.

Antony was carried off in tears around the 25-minute mark and Marcus Rashford was introduced as his replacement.

Asked about Antony, ten Hag told Sky Sports, “It’s difficult to say…

“I don’t know. Everyone saw he came off.

“I can tell you it is serious but we have to wait a minimum of 24 hours and then we will probably know more about the status of his injury.”

United take on Manchester City in the FA Cup final on 3 June with Antony likely to be considered a major doubt for that trip to Wembley.
