STEPHANIE Reddick has shared a heartbreaking statement after her husband's sudden death.

Stephanie's message, shared via Lance Reddick's social media accounts, reads: "Lance was taken from us far too soon. Thank you all for your overwhelming love, support and beautiful stories shared on these platforms over the last day."

She went on to thank the "thousands of Destiny players who played in special tribute to Lance," referencing the video game players who have honored the voice actor by huddling around his character, Commander Zavala, in Destiny 2.

"Lance loved you as much as he loved the game," the statement reads.

The 60-year-old star, who was known for his roles in The Wire and the John Wick franchise, was found at his Los Angeles home at around 9.30am on Friday. His representative has reported that he died "of natural causes."

    Lionsgate, the studio behind the John Wick franchise, said in a statement to PEOPLE that Lance Reddick leaves behind an “indelible legacy.”

    “The world of Wick would not be what it is without Lance Reddick and the unparalleled depth he brought to Charon’s humanity and unflappable charisma,” the statement said.

    “Lance leaves behind an indelible legacy and hugely impressive body of work, but we will remember him as our lovely, joyful friend and Concierge.

    “We’re stunned and heartbroken, and our deepest condolences go to his beloved family and his fans all around the world.”

    The statement continued: “He is held in the highest regard by all who knew and worked with him and we are proud to be part of his legacy. He will be missed dearly.”

    Reddick went on: “And he looked, I mean, I was like, except for the gray and white in his beard, he still looked like he was 30 years old.

    “I mean, what is this guy eating? Because I want some of that.

    “So the notion that he was struggling with drugs and that he died suddenly, that he died that way, was shocking to me.”

    Reddick called Williams a “genuine guy” saying that “when I felt like I was floundering in my career, shortly after The Wire, I called him and he helped.

    “And you don’t forget that.”

    Even though Lance Reddick knew about Michael K Williams’ history of drug addiction, he was still surprised by his death.

    “So because of the trajectory of his career, it never occurred to me that that was still going on,” Reddick said.

    He explained: “As a matter of fact, the last time I saw him was when The Wire got an award.”

    The Wire won the Classic Television Award at the American Black Film Festival in February 2020.

    Lance Reddick opened up about Michael K Williams, his former castmate from The Wire, in one of his final interviews.

    “I just couldn’t believe it,” Reddick said to SiriusXM’s Bevelations host Bevy Smith on Thursday about his late costar’s death.

    “I mean, I knew that he had like, when we were on The Wire, I know he struggled with it, and I only know it because he told me,” Reddick recalled.

    Williams died from an overdose of fentanyl-laced heroin on September 6, 2021, at age 54.

    “But quite frankly, Michael and I didn’t stay in touch,” Reddick admitted.

    In the action-thriller movie series John Wick, Reddick played the role of Charon.

    The singer and actor passed away unexpectedly on Friday in his Los Angeles home reportedly from “natural causes,” according to his publicist.

    According to the publicist, police were called to the actor’s home about 9.30am local time.

    “Lance will be greatly missed,” his publicist, Mia Hansen, said in a statement. “Please respect his family’s privacy at this time.”
