Keanu Reeves ‘heartbroken’ following death of ‘beloved’ John Wick co-star Lance Reddick

Keanu Reeves has been one of the first well-known faces to pay tribute to his John Wick co-star Lance Reddick following his death aged 60.

Keanu Reeves, 58, led a long list of celebrities and Hollywood institutions who have paid tribute to the late Lance Reddick. Lance, who was known for portraying Charon in the John Wick franchise, died at the age of 60 earlier today.

Keanu, along with John Wick director Chad Stahelski, expressed his sadness and “heartbreak” over the tragic loss.

They said in a statement: “We are deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss of our beloved friend and colleague Lance Reddick.

“He was the consummate professional and a joy to work with.

“Our love and prayers are with his wife Stephanie, his children, family and friends.

“We dedicate the film to his loving memory. We will miss him dearly.”

Film industry giant Lionsgate, which is the studio behind the hit franchise, said in a statement: “The world of Wick would not be what it is without Lance Reddick and the unparalleled depth he brought to Charon’s humanity and unflappable charisma.

“Lance leaves behind an indelible legacy and hugely impressive body of work, but we will remember him as our lovely, joyful friend and Concierge.

“We’re stunned and heartbroken, and our deepest condolences go to his beloved family and his fans all around the world.”

The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan said in a tweet: “Ahhh… damn it. ⁦a big loss. ⁦@lancereddick Rest in peace my man.

“An amazing actor, and an even more amazing dude.

“Condolences and love to his family and all that knew him.”

Veteran filmmaker James Gunn added: “Lance Reddick was an incredibly nice guy, and an incredibly talented actor.

“This is heartbreaking. My love goes out to all his family, friends, and collaborators.”

The official UK Twitter account for TV network HBO said: “Lance Reddick has been part of the HBO family for over 20 years, starring in several projects including iconic roles in Oz and The Wire.

“He is held in the highest regard by all who knew and worked with him and we are proud to be part of his legacy. He will be missed dearly.”

Lance’s body was found at his Studio City home Friday morning around 9.30am, US law enforcement sources told TMZ.

The Hollywood star’s cause of death is currently unclear.

However, law enforcement sources told the aforementioned news outlet the death appears to be natural.

Express.co.uk has contacted Lance Reddick's representatives for comment.

Lance was also known for his role as the fictional Baltimore Police Department officer Cedrick Daniels on The Wire.
