The Wire star Lance Reddick has died aged 60, according to reports, as tributes begin to pour in on social media.

Lance Reddick has reportedly died at the age of 60, with fans rushing to social media to react to the tragic news. The actor, known for portraying Charon in the John Wick franchise, had been doing a press tour for the fourth instalment of the big-screen hit.

Lance’s body was found at his Studio City home Friday morning around 9.30am, US law enforcement sources told TMZ.

The Hollywood star’s cause of death is currently unclear.

However, law enforcement sources told the aforementioned news outlet the death appears to be natural.

Express.co.uk has contacted Lance Reddick's representatives for comment.

Fans of the legendary actor flooded social media with tributes to the late Baltimore native.

Rsweetchaos613 tweeted: “Amazing actor, very sad he is gone.”

BrendenDeeg_ added: “This one hurts. The Wire is my favorite show of all time, RIP to a legend.” (sic)

TheRennjamin said: “Dammit! I always enjoyed his unique demeanor and what he personally brought to his roles.

WiseWord10 penned: “Wait, WHAAAAAAAAT????? He was a phenomenal actor.

“I loved him in the Bosch series, the Wire, and John Wick. Wow!!!” (sic)

Lance had taken to Instagram on Wednesday to share a heartwarming picture surrounded by his four dogs.

The film star could be seen smiling broadly while the pooches tried to lick his face.

In the caption, Lance admitted: “On screen and off, it's no surprise I love spoiling my dogs.

“@officialhardrock makes it easy with a full line of @johnwickmovie dog swag available at @hardrockhotels Unleashed locations, and a very special #NationalPuppyDay event at @hardrockhotelnyc to support @animalleague.”

Lance had a guest appearance scheduled for next week on Kelly Clarkson's show.

He was known for his role as the fictional Baltimore Police Department officer Cedrick Daniels on The Wire.

As well as appearing in all five seasons of the hit HBO series, Lance had recurring roles on a number of TV shows.

His vast TV work included Fringe, Bosch, Oz and Lost, while his big screen portfolio boasted Angel Has Fallen and Godzilla Vs. Kong.
